Today, May 7, 1915, the RMS Lusitania was sunk off the coast of Ireland, and 1,198 souls perished.
It has never been ascertained if she was in fact carrying arms and ordinance as declared by Imperial Germany, or if she was just a cruise liner as stated by the Allies.
Like the Hindenburg, this case has always fascinated me.
