Hey America...

If you do not wake up, and wake up soon, we will be posting the above sign on America, sooner rather than later. The sign man is getting ready to post that, so I need to ask...

How much more government intrusion into your lives do you need before you wake up?

How much more socialism do you need before you wake up?

How much more taxes are you going to pay before you wake up?

How much more freedom are you going to give up before you wake up?

How much more are you willing to accept the MSM sucking up to 'The One' before you wake up?

How much more are you willing to put up with unaccountable Czars before you wake up?

How much more are you willing to put up with a centralized politburo before you wake up?

How much more are you willing to put up with massive federal spending before you wake up?

How much more are you willing to put up with a debt ridden country be before you wake up?

How much more are you willing to put up with 'hope and change' before you realize those are meaningless words before you wake up?

America...how much more?

Yup. I just listened to Jug Ears explain how we are getting "a whole new standalone agency" to
'protect consumers'

This means those poor folks that are too fucking stupid to read their mortgage papers.

Better still if we euthanize people for signing contracts that they can't understand.

We are fucked.

Gotcha, Gregor!

;)

Billy Ray, I must admit, my friend, we are truly fucked!

And I trust Gregor would agree (as a matter of fact, I know he would).

Collectively, yes. Personally, no.
By the end of this year, or shortly there after, we will be rid of all debt with the exception of our mortgage and monthly living expenses, which, for us empty nesters, is next to nothing. The balance on our mortgage is about 1/3 of what the property is worth if we had to bail out in a hurry, or about 1/4 of fair market price. It is our intention to weather the next three years by slowly increasing our self sufficiency, removing ourselves from all credit company lists by paying cash for everything, and pare down our life style to the point where we have become transparent in the system. In seven years, when I plan on retiring, we are planning on getting a divorce so we can both get the full amount of whatever is left of our life-long investment in Social Security, we already have separate mailing addresses set up and have never had any joint accounts or debts other than our mortgage. We shall be ghosts in the machine and be immediately mobile, if the need arises. If America turns around, we will be way ahead of the game. If things keep going to hell, we will be way ahead of the game. We win. The hand-held morons lose. Fuck 'em. Let them wallow in their bad decisions. It's unavoidable that we will, for the rest of our lives, be paying taxes to support their lack of judgment, I have to contend with that reality, but so be it.

Gregor,

I like your plan! I do hope though that you and Mrs. SOG stay together (I am assuming, but you know what they say about that.)

As soon as I retire, I am going to follow your plan...right now, I pay cash for virtually everything, except when I travel, I have to use a credit card.
