sealing the fate of the United States of America as a free market state has been hammered in.
And of course, this massive expansion of government will be on the backs of people who smoke, because it will raise the federal tax on a pack of cigarettes to about $1.01, but before you non-smokers out there applaud this action, take heed...the same socialists and their backers that passed this entitlement monstrosity also predict that it will lower youth smoking by 7 percent, and overall smoking by 4 percent, so if that holds true, they will have to seek revenue elsewhere, and guess who they will be coming after?
That's right Mr. and Mrs. Non-Smoker, you will be next on the tax increase hit parade, and if you think otherwise, you are a fool. See, the beast that has been created has an insatiable hunger, and once tobacco revenues dwindle, the beast will seek to satisfy its hunger elsewhere.
But Gothguy you say, its for 'the children.' Yea, whatever, and nice try. This is not about 'the children', it is, and always has been, a foot in the door towards nationalized health care, so stop kidding yourself.
